CyberSoft's Update and Upgrade Policy
Our policy toward updates and upgrades is simple: Updates are free and upgrades are about half price. The difference between updates and upgrade is explained below. Updates - An update is an interim release that fixes bugs, improves performance, enhances usability, updates data, or adds a new feature to an existing version. Version numbers look like v6.0, v.6.01, v.6.02, etc. If your original purchase was for, say, NutriBase 6, then you are entitled to all the updates that we release that begin with the number "6". Updates for the current edition can be downloaded from our web site at no charge by visiting our Update Page. To see a description of every update we've released since January 1, 2000, visit our Update History page. The latest release of the current NutriBase update will always update all previous current editions of NutriBase. That is, installing version 6.09 will update NutriBase version 6.0 through version 6.08. Keep in mind that there is no need to install each update in sequence - the latest update will update any previous version that begins with the same version number. A version 6 update will not update NutriBase 5 or older versions. A version 6 update will only update previous releases of NutriBase 6. Example: NutriBase Update Edition version 6.09 will update all NutriBase versions 6.0 through 6.08. To check on the current status of updates, click the Updates option in the navigation bar at the top of this or any other NutriBase web page. Update CD's are available for purchase. If you cannot download the update, you may purchase a replacement CD for a nominal fee. You must be a registered user of the current version to purchase as this price. We do not stock CD's for previous versions of NutriBase Diet Software. Upgrades An upgrade is a major new release of NutriBase. When we release a major new release, we change the first number in the version number. Moving from NutriBase 5.x to NutriBase 6.x would be an upgrade. There is a fee for upgrading (moving from one major version to the next), but it is only about half the cost of a first-time purchase. To check upgrade pricing, click the Upgrades option in the navigation bar at the top of this or any other NutriBase web page.) Upgrades are free when... you purchase NutriBase and we introduce a major new release (moving from, say, NutriBase 5 to NutriBase 6) within 60 days of your purchase date. We released NutriBase 6 on April 8, 2005. Important Note Regarding Upgrades. Each edition of NutriBase can upgrade the immediately previous edition. That is, a new version of NutriBase (like NutriBase 6) can convert the client information, recipes, meals, meal plans, etc. from the previous edition of NutriBase 5 and convert them into the new format required by NutriBase 6. Thus, the NutriBase 6 Upgrade Edition can upgrade all versions of NutriBase 5, but it cannot upgrade NutriBase 4 or older versions.
Specially discounted upgrade pricing is available to registered users of NutriBase 5. That is, if you are a registered user of NutriBase 5, you are eligible to upgrade to NutriBase 6 at the special discounted upgrade price. The NutriBase End User License governs the usage of the NutriBase software. If you have any questions about updates or upgrades, please email us at CyberSoft, Inc. |
